Amanda

Amanda is a fourteen-year-old performer who is working out in Branson, MO with The Magnificent 7.  Here's an interview with her.  Thanks Amanda!

Answer:
"12/20/87."

Question:
"City you reside in?"

Answer:
"Branson, MO"

Question:
"Marital status/family?"

Answer:
"Single...I'm only 14!!"

Question:
"Hobbies?"

Answer:
"Listening to music, swimming, hiking."

Question:
"How old were you when you first became interested in music?"

Answer:
"My parents tell me I started singing as soon as I started talking."

Question:
"How long have you been entertaining, alone or with a group?"

Answer:
"I have been performing professionally since I was 9, so 6 years."

Question:
"Musical influences?"

Answer:
"Margo Smith, LeAnn Rimes, Paula Abdul, MC Hammer."

Question:
"Where can people find out more about you?"

Answer:

Question:
"What’s your favorite thing about entertaining?"

Answer:
"I love to watch how people react to different songs. If I make them feel some kind of emotion, I know I'm doing my job."

Question:
"What’s your least favorite thing about entertaining?"

Answer:
"I don't have a least favorite thing...I love it!!"

Question:
"What’s your most memorable moment on stage?"

Answer:
"Probably when I got to open for Lonestar.  Just being on stage with them in front of 12,000 people was an incredible feeling! They were great guys!"

Question:
"What’s your most memorable moment off stage, music related?"

Answer"
"A little girl and her family started coming to my show last year. The little girl is 6 and has not been able to speak since she was born. After watching the show several times, she now tries very hard to sing along with me.  Her Mom thinks this has been the best therapy the little girl has ever had.  That makes me feel good to know that we might be a part of helping her!"

Question:
"Is there anything that your fans don’t know about you that you think they should?"

Answer:
"Well, I go to Branson Jr High where I am an honor student. I get asked all the time if I get to be a "normal" kid and want everyone to know that I like doing the same things all kids my age do. Instead of a sport, I sing!"

Question:
"Is there anything that you want to say to your fans?"

Answer:
"I want to thank everyone for making 2001 such a great year for me and my show. We won Best New Show, Best Fiddler, best Bass Player, and I was fortunate enough to be honored as Best Young Entertainer at the Branson All-American Awards.  To show our appreciation, anyone who comes to our show can register some great prizes, including 2 cars, that we are going to give away on New Years Eve.  Also, anyone who signs my Guestbook will be entered in a drawing for 2 free tickets to see my show! "Is there anything that you want to add?"

Answer:
"If I could say anything to anyone who is getting started in the music business it would be to never give up, work hard, and seize every opportunity you have to perform anywhere you can!"
