Astral Grey - Interview with David

Here's an interview with David of Astral Grey.  Thank you David!

Question:
"Names of the members of the band and instruments they play?"

Answer:
"David Grimm - Vocals, Guitars, Programming; Christoph - Drums, Programming; Mike Kilgour - Guitars."

Question:
"How did the band get its name?"

Answer:
"While in college, one of my roommates was an art major which

resulted in our room being cluttered with paint tubes everywhere.

One of the colors of paint he had was "Astral Grey" which I

immediately thought sounded like a good name for a band."

Question:

"How long have these people made up the band?"

Answer:

"Mike and I were founding members of the band along with

a few others that no longer exist. Christoph joined us in 1999."

Question:

"How long has the band been in existence (if different)?"

Answer:
"
In some form or another, Astral Grey has existed since 1997."

Question:

"Album(s) the band has released and the year(s) they were released?"

Answer:
"Astral Grey" - self titled debut e.p. 1997

"Dreams Make Girls Blue Here" - e.p. 1999

"Keep Me Alive" - pre-release e.p. 2002

Question:
"Where can people find out more about your band?"

Answer:

Question:
"Where’s your favorite place to perform and why?"

Answer:
"
The original Loring Bar. The intimacy of playing a show

up on that little crowded stage was like nothing else in this

town. It was the place we always went after, or sometimes

during rehearsals, as it was very close to our studio. There

were hardly any better places on earth to sit back on

a comfy sofa, sip some wine and have a smoke."

Question:
"What’s your favorite thing about entertaining?"

Answer:
"Playing music isn't entertaining. Juggling cats is entertaining."

Question:
"What’s your least favorite thing about entertaining?"

Answer:
"
The PETA people would never allow us to juggle cats."

Question:
"What’s your most memorable moment on stage?"

Answer:
"
We drink a lot."

Question:
"
What’s your most memorable moment off stage, music related?"

Answer:
"
One time I was driving back to Minneapolis from seeing the

Cure play a show in Chicago and was abducted by aliens

somewhere in Wisconsin. To the best of my knowledge

there was no "probing" involved, or drinking, or drugs,

or sleep deprivation, or hand puppets."

Question:
"Is there anything that your fans don’t know about the band that you think they should?"

Answer:
"We're going to be the first band to play a show on the moon, Kilgour knows kung-fu, Christoph doesn't eat candy, and I have never seen the movie Lord of the Rings."

Question:
"Is there anything that you want to say to your fans?"

Answer:
"
Hi."
