This band offers a great mix of older cover
music, southern cover music, as well as some of their own music. They play
covers by anyone from John Cougar Mellencamp to The Wallflowers.
The band:
The guitar player has an incredible talent. He's only been with this band for a
year, but he has fifteen years of experience playing the guitar. He really gets
into the music and seems enthusiastic about playing.
The drummer also seemed to enjoy every minute
that he was on stage. He was excellent behind the drums!
The lead vocals/guitar player has a great amount
of talent while playing and singing, but, to be honest, I think zombies may
quite possibly show more enthusiasm. I've never seen a man look so bored on
stage!
The bass player was also pretty good at playing.
The problem was, some people seem to show more life when they're sleeping then
he did on stage.
The keyboard player is only occasionally at the
venues with them. (He's kind of a part-time player with the band.) He really
got in to the music and seemed to be having a lot of fun!
Their performance:
The Pros:
They played some pretty good music.
The Cons:
They made playing music look like a job.
My Thoughts:
The music was great but, the lead singer and bass player are in desperate need
of some enthusiasm! I don't think I've seen a person look so bored on stage as
the two of them did. They're in desperate need of a boost. On top of that,
besides the occasional smile from the guitar and keyboard player, the rest of
the band seemed way too serious on stage. I've never seen entertainment look
more like a job then I did when I went to see these guys. The guitar player,
keyboard player and drummer showed some enthusiasm, but no matter how much they
displayed, it didn't make up for the dullness of the lead singer and the bass
player.
The place I went to see them at started out with three other people (besides
myself) in the room that they were playing in. The crowd only grew slightly,
but if they could pick up on the enthusiasm a bit, they'd be able to draw much
bigger crowds at the venues! A smile can help out quite a bit too!
Rating:
My rating on a scale of one to five (five being
terrific) would be a two and a half. The music was good, but I've never seen
playing music look more like a job.
