Here's an interview with Brian of Stigma. Thank
you Brian!
Question:
"Birth date?"
Answer:
"February 6th."
Question:
"City you reside in?"
Answer:
"Minneapolis."
Question:
"Marital status/family?"
Answer:
"Not married, but I do have a girlfriend."
Question:
"Favorite Drink?"
Answer:
"Coffee."
Question:
"Favorite local band?"
Answer:
"There's so many good ones, in so many different genres, that it would be hard
to single one out. A few of them on top would be: Smilin' Liar, Black Flood
Diesel, Nuisance Crew, Subnormal, Sublevel, With, Align, Teething, (formely
Thievz Army) Atmosphere."
Question:
"Favorite national band?"
Answer:
"Again there are so many to list. Tool, Ministry, NIN, American Head Charge,
Marilyn Manson, Underworld, Bile, Johnny Cash."
Question:
"Hobbies?"
Answer:
"Bowling."
Question:
"How long have you been with this band?"
Answer:
"I began writing material for Stigma in October of '99 and the full circle was
completed in September of 2000."
Question:
"How long have you been entertaining, alone or with a group?"
Answer:
"14 years."
Question:
"How old were you when you first became interested in music?"
Answer:
"I started playing the French Horn in fourth grade, and we had this old piano in
our house when I was growing up, that I used to play on. My dad also taught me
how to play the guitar at a relatively young age as well, so I guess for about
as long as I can remember."
Question:
"Before this, what kind of experience did you have in the entertainment
industry, musical or otherwise?"
Answer:
"Nothing really outside of playing in bands. I've played a lot of different
clubs, in and out of Minneapolis."
Question:
"Musical influences?"
Answer:
"Jimi Hendrix, Black Sabbath, Sex Pistols, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Dead Kennedys."
Question:
"What's your favorite thing about entertaining?"
Answer:
"When I'm on stage, any problems, or issues I'm dealing with in my personal life
go away for that short period of time. It's definitely an emotional release
when performing. I usually feel better, after a show, because it's like taking
a little vacation away from yourself."
Question:
"What's your least favorite thing about entertaining?"
Answer:
"All the work involved in hauling gear, setting it up, tearing it down, and
hauling it back to the studio. Anybody out there want to be a roadie?"
Question:
"What's your most memorable moment on stage?"
Answer:
"With Stigma, it's definitely walking out on stage at 1st Ave., when we opened
for American Head Charge and seeing well over 1,000 people looking back at us."
Question:
"What's your most memorable moment off stage, music related?"
Answer:
"The hotel party we had after we played on Halloween in Mankato. I still can't
believe that we didn't get kicked out."
Question:
"Where's your favorite place to perform?"
Answer:
"First Avenue."
Question:
"Is there anything that your fans don't know about you that you think they
should?"
Answer:
"I always like to meet and talk to people who enjoy the music. I'm very
accessible as well. If someone comes up to me at a show I won't blow them off,
and I always respond to e-mail."
Question:
"Is there anything that you want to say to your fans?"
Answer:
"I want to send a huge 'Thank You' to all the people that have supported us this
far. It means a great deal to us that you appreciate and enjoy what we're
doing."
Question:
"Is there anything that you want to add?"
Answer:
"Please keep your eyes open for our new full length disc. We will be doing a CD
release party in May/June some time and hope to see all of you there. You can
check up for details at:
