Annie Daze - Interview
with Doc
Question:
"Name of the members of the band and the instruments they play?"
Answer:
"Dr. Gordon Setter - Vocalist, Frontman, Guitars, Writer, Producer, Engineer;
Todd Eves - Lead Guitars, Vocals, Writer; Gary Goette - Bass Guitar,
Vocals; Mark Kurseth - Drums and Percussion."
Question:
"How did the band get its name?"
Answer:
"The name Annie Daze comes from the unparalleled idea that any days above ground
are and should be good daze. And since my daughters, mothers, and nieces names
are invariably tied to the pronoun Ann... well as you can see we just a little
play the word game and there you have it. Or is it just too much time on ones
hands?"
Question:
" How
long have these members made up the band?"
"Todd Eves, Gary Goette, and the Dr.
have been working on this quite seriously since last October. Mark Kurseth
joined us in January of 2002."
Question:
"How long has the band been in existence?"
Answer:
" Annie
has existed for the better part of the Dr.'s last 10 years. Just finally found
enough of the right people to make it go. Todd Eves and I had put together a
string of a 1/2 dozen originals and recorded them at Vortex records in the
Winters of '98 - '00. Results are audible on our website only, at present."
Question:
"Album(s) the band has released and the year(s) they were released?"
Answer:
" We
are at present writing new material for the Upcoming 1st release " Oxygen
Cocktail " it will include some of the stuff on the website and 6 - 8 of the new
pieces. 4 of which we have placed in our live shows. We begin tracking Dec.
22nd of this year. We expect a May - June release. "
Question:
"How can people find out more about your band?"
Answer:
" To
stay on top of wazz up you can do one of the following; Join Annie's Army
(fan club info) - 507-695-2214 (ask for Annie). 507-695-2186 (ask for
Doc).

Question:
"Where's your favorite place to perform and why?"
Answer:
" Wherever
we are playing next. But if we had to pick one spot it would be The Uptown
Theater in Arnold's Park. Great sound system, great fans and we were so on top
of it. It just felt great."
Question:
"What's your favorite thing about entertaining?"
Answer:
" Lighting
the candlestick and finding out just what it takes to put a fire under the butts
of the seemingly disenchanted."
Question:
"What's your least favorite thing about entertaining?"
Answer:
" Stopping
or worse... NOT ENTERTAINING. "
Question:
"What's your most memorable moment on stage?"
Answer:
" I
suppose it would be realizing how lucky we are to be there, Personally it would
be the night I realized how unsteady a round table can really be, I think I
looked like I was surfing and the fans EYES. Wow they got really big. Wonder
what mine looked like?"
Question:
"What's your most memorable moment off stage, music related?"
Answer:
"Definitely when a certain young lady let me know that she listened to Annie
Daze every night before she went to bed. Hearing your songs played on a
radio station for the first time and finding out that you get requested and
played on a regular basis. And considering the Dr. has had a hand in 25
gold platinum records, their are plenty of stories to go around."
Question:
"Is there anything that your fans don't know about you that you think they
should?"
Answer:
" Yes,
Drugs do not play a role in our lives, though if you ever see the Dr. you may
wonder a bit. Do not take anything you see, hear, taste, touch, smell, or feel
at our shows personally. It's just a show. And we are trying only to relieve our
pain."
Question:
"Is there anything you want to say to your fans?"
Answer:
" We
Love You. Without you we are lost. So be safe, stay out of jails,
emergency rooms... Never lose sight of hope, it is yours for the taking."
Question:
"Is there anything you want to add?"
Answer:
" Thank
you for your time."
