Here's an interview done with 13 Hertz. Thank
you Perry!
Question:
"Names of the members of the band and the instruments they play?"
Answer:
"T. Perry Bowers - Vocals. Charlie Henrikson - Guitar. Rob Aurand - Bass.
Lila Karash - Guitar. Kent Mortimer - Drums."
Question:
"How did the band get its name?"
Answer:
"It's from a book by Gregg Braden. He says the resonance of the earth is rising
(The Schuman Resonance). He says it has 8 hz for a long time and by the year
2012 it could rise to 13 hz. The name is wondering what that pulse increase
will do to our state of consciousness as humans."
Question:
"How long has this group of people made up the band?"
Answer:
"We have been together for almost 4 years."
Question:
"How long has the band been in existence?"
Answer:
"Charlie Henrikson and I (Perry) have been playing together for about ten years
now. We holed up and fine-tuned our skills before we were ready to play with
some really good musicians."
Question:
"Album(s) the band has released and the year(s) they were released?"
Answer:
"We have two three song demos out. Our first 'Vibrant' came out in 2000 and our
second with no title came out in 2001. We hope to release a full-length record
in 2002."
Question:
"First single released?"
Answer:
"No singles."
Question:
"Where's your favorite place to perform and why?"
Answer:
"Sursumcorda is a great venue because it has a good sound system and people who
care about how it sounds. It's cool because they still have something to
prove. They seem to try harder to please the artists (and the audience) than
some clubs."
Question:
"What's your favorite thing about entertaining?"
Answer:
"I like to take an audience on little adventures. I like to see people buy a
song hook line and sinker. They are intrigued by the introduction, so they
stick around for the story and are moved by the ending. I like when the
intended drama of a song works."
Question:
"What's your least favorite thing about entertaining?"
Answer:
"I dislike when my mind gets in the way of my art. If my mind had it's way it
would succeed in discouraging me. It would convince me that this was ridiculous
and I should go home and get a real job."
Question:
"What's your most memorable moment on stage?"
Answer:
"There are a few songs that we do that can fill a room and take over everyone,
even if it's just for a moment. I love it when that happens."
Question:
"What's your most memorable moment off stage, music related?"
Answer:
"I (Perry) interviewed Shannon Hoon from Blind Melon a couple of years before he
died. It was just before "No Rain" got big. It was great to see a man who was
truly "almost famous". I was a big fan before they got big. I was actually
starting to have my doubts about whether they would break through. He
encompassed what I was trying to do with my singing. He incorporated his
spirituality into his songs and lyrics. He wrote with great imagery. Actually,
he got a little too wordy and poetic sometimes, but I forgave him because I
appreciated so much of what he did."
Question:
"Is there anything that your fans don't know about the band that you think they
should?"
Answer:
"We are gonna be around for a while. Sometimes people say, "don't give up, it
will happen." It is encouraging when people say that, but make no mistake, we
do not intend to give up."
Question:
"Is there anything that you want to say to your fans?"
Answer:
"
